It informs importers, Custom House Agents, and trade members that the practice of endorsing Bills of Entry for MODVAT Credit, previously allowed under earlier rules, is no longer applicable under the CENVAT Credit Rules, 2004. Rule 9 of these rules outlines the documents required for availing CENVAT Credit, and endorsement by a Customs Officer is not included. Consequently, this practice is discontinued.
