<h1>India Announces Service Tax Exemptions for Exports Under 2007 Foreign Trade Policy; Submissions Due by July 10, 2007.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has announced exemptions and remissions from Service Tax related to exports, as part of the Foreign Trade Policy released on April 19, 2007. Trade and Industry Associations, Export Promotion Councils, Commodity Boards, and other stakeholders are invited to submit lists of export-related services that may qualify for these tax benefits. Submissions should include illustrative calculations for determining exemption or remission amounts. Comments and lists should be submitted by July 10, 2007, to the Directorate General of Foreign Trade in New Delhi.
