Mumbai Customs Updates Bank Guarantee Rules for Cargo Transshipment; Exempts Government Undertakings, Amends Custodian Guarantees.
The Customs Office in Mumbai has issued a notice regarding the bank guarantee requirements for the transshipment of cargo from Mumbai Port to feeder ports, ICDs, and CFSs. Government undertakings are exempt from providing a bank guarantee. Custodians of ICDs/CFSs must amend existing bank guarantees to ensure cargo safety and security during transshipment, and they are not required to execute additional guarantees. Other carriers must continue to provide a bank guarantee of 15% of the bond value. This notice amends the previous notice dated September 14, 2001.
