of <h1>Export Obligation for Sugar Imports Extended to Dec 31, 2009, No Further Extensions Allowed, No Fees Required.</h1> The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended the Handbook of Procedures, Vol. I (RE-2008) under the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09. This amendment concerns the extension of the export obligation period for Advance Authorisations issued for sugar. For authorisations where raw sugar was imported between September 21, 2004, and April 15, 2008, the export obligation period is automatically extended to December 31, 2009, without any composition fee. However, no further extensions will be granted beyond this date. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
