of <h1>New Risk Management System for Tuticorin Imports Starts December 27, 2007: Faster Cargo Clearance with Self-Assessment.</h1> The Risk Management System (RMS) for imports at the Inland Container Depot in Tuticorin will be operational from December 27, 2007. The system aims to balance facilitation and enforcement by allowing low-risk consignments to clear based on self-assessment without examination, thus expediting cargo clearance. The RMS will process Bills of Entry, selecting some for further assessment or examination based on risk parameters. Accredited Clients will benefit from expedited processing. The system will replace concurrent audits with Post Clearance Audits to ensure compliance. Importers are advised to ensure accurate data submission to maximize facilitation benefits.
