of <h1>Rummaging & Intelligence Cell at JNCH Conducts Continuous Vessel Searches; Shipping Agents Must Notify in Advance.</h1> The Rummaging & Intelligence (R&I) Cell has been established at Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House (JNCH) to operate continuously, conducting selective vessel searches at JNPT since September 17, 2009. Shipping agents, lines, and customs house agents must notify the R&I Cell in advance of vessel arrivals. The Dock Master is required to provide daily arrival information. The Customs Search Party will be formed based on this information. Officers have full access to vessels for rummaging, which is supervised by a team superintendent. Searches should minimize disruption, and specific procedures must be followed, ensuring officers are present during searches of critical areas.
