of <h1>New Measures to Clear Backlog of Exporter Drawback Claims; Respond by 31-12-2009, File Supplementary Claims Soon.</h1> Special measures are being implemented to address the backlog of drawback claims pending due to unanswered queries in the Exporters queue. These claims have been pending since the introduction of the EDI System in 1998. Exporters are required to respond to queries by 31-12-2009. A Drawback Help Desk and an automatic email response system have been established to assist exporters. A list of pending queries has been distributed to exporters' associations. Claims pending before 30-06-2008 will be processed on merit, and exporters can file supplementary claims within six months. Public Notices are modified accordingly.
