New Procedure for Courier Shipments at Mumbai Airport: Streamlined Clearance and Security Measures in Place Until New Terminal Opens.

The circular outlines the procedure for transshipment and computerized processing of courier shipments from the Courier Cell at Mumbai Airport to the Air Cargo Complex, Sahar, Mumbai. Due to security restrictions at Terminal 2C, clearance difficulties were reported by the Bombay Custom House Agents Association. To address this, a detailed procedure was established for consignees and their authorized agents to clear shipments through the Air Cargo Complex. The process involves preparing a Cargo Transfer Manifest, obtaining customs approval, sealing shipments, and ensuring proper documentation and acknowledgment at each stage. This interim measure will be in place until a new courier terminal becomes operational.
