<h1>Importers Must Accurately Enter Unit Quantity Code in Bills of Entry, Urges Directorate General of Valuation.</h1> The Directorate General of Valuation has identified an issue where importers or their agents frequently fail to correctly mention the Unit Quantity Code (UQC) in Bills of Entry for imported goods. Each item's UQC is specified in the Customs Tariff Act schedule. Importers are reminded to accurately enter the UQC in the appropriate entry column when filing Bills of Entry for clearance. Trade Associations, Chambers of Commerce, and related committees are urged to disseminate this notice to their members for compliance and necessary action.
