New Procedure for Handling Perishable Cargo Exceeding ULD Capacity: Amend AWB, Apply to AC/DC, Amend Shipping Bill.
Exporters and Custom House Agents (CHAs) are informed about the procedure for handling perishable cargo that exceeds the capacity of a Unit Load Device (ULD). When such excess occurs, exporters/CHAs must amend the Air Waybill (AWB) and apply to the Assistant Commissioner/Deputy Commissioner (AC/DC) of the Export Shed for permission to take the excess cargo back to town. If the Export Shed is closed, the Superintendent of the APEDA shed will handle this process. The procedure includes verification, cancellation of the Let Export Order (LEO), and amendment of the Shipping Bill. Any implementation difficulties should be reported.
