Importers and agents face delays due to late entry of examination reports in EDI system; same-day entry urged.
Attention is drawn to importers, exporters, and customs house agents regarding delays in entering examination reports into the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system at import docks. It has been noted that reports are not being entered on the same day, causing delays in goods delivery and reassessment. Examining staff are instructed to input reports from the first shift before the second shift begins, and from the second shift after completion, ensuring same-day entry. In exceptional cases where same-day entry is not possible, the issue should be reported to the supervising Deputy Commissioner or Assistant Commissioner for corrective action.
