Procedure for Duplicate Bill of Entry: Steps for Lost, Misplaced, or Damaged Documents, Fees, and Verification Process.
The procedure for issuing a certificate or duplicate copy of the Bill of Entry is outlined for cases where the importer's copy of the EDI Bill of Entry is lost, misplaced, mutilated, or destroyed. Importers must first seek a certified copy from their bank and, if unavailable, request assistance from the Assistant/Deputy Commissioner (Statistics) with supporting documents, including a police complaint and indemnity bond. The T.A/S.T.A, Statistics will verify documents and issue a certificate if approved. In urgent cases, a duplicate Bill of Entry can be generated with the System Manager's permission, following a similar verification process. A fee of Rs. 50 is applicable for the issuance of the certificate or duplicate copy.
