of <h1>Customs Implement New Measures for Pending Drawback Claims: Exporters Must Respond by February 28, 2010, to Clear Backlog.</h1> Special measures are being implemented to address pending drawback claims due to unanswered queries. Since the EDI system's introduction in 1998, many claims have been pending with exporters for responses. Queries are processed online, and exporters must obtain query printouts from service centers. A Drawback Help Desk and an email response system were established to assist exporters. Exporters with pending shipping bills as of December 31, 2008, must submit replies by February 28, 2010. Claims will be processed on merit, with the option to file supplementary claims within six months. Difficulties should be reported to the relevant customs officials.
