of <h1>Mumbai SVB Now Under DGOV Control for Customs Valuation; Section 14 Orders to Be Issued by Assistant Commissioner.</h1> The Special Valuation Branch (SVB) of the New Custom House in Mumbai is now under the functional control of the Directorate General of Valuation (DGOV) as of January 1, 2013, following a board review. The DGOV will oversee case investigations, monitor pending cases, and initiate inquiries. After investigations, the Assistant or Deputy Commissioner of Customs, SVB, Mumbai, will issue a value determination order under Section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962, which will be sent to the concerned importer, the referring Custom House, and the DGOV. Legal matters related to these cases will remain with the Commissioner of Customs (Import), Mumbai.
