of <h1>New Procedures for Clearing Containers at CFS Gates: Electronic Verification and Connectivity Requirements for Customs Officers.</h1> The circular outlines procedures for clearing containers from Container Freight Station (CFS) gates after receiving out of charge from Customs officers. Currently, there is no system connectivity between the Shed Appraising Officer, the Custodian, and the Gate Officer. To address this, CFSs must provide ICES terminal and internet connectivity for Customs Gate Officers to verify documents electronically. A list of Bills of Entry with out of charge status will be provided to Gate Officers at specified intervals. Specimen signatures and stamps of officers will be circulated for verification. CFSs must verify document status on ICEGATE before issuing gate passes.
