Foreign Trade Policy Update: Revised Import Norms for Pickles in Oil Announced by DGFT to Streamline Trade Practices.
The Director General of Foreign Trade has issued a public notice amending the Standard Input Output Norms (SION) for vegetable and mixed pickles in oil under the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09. The amendments, detailed in Annexure 'A,' specify the import quantities for various components used in pickle production. For every kilogram of pickles exported, the permissible import quantities are 0.250 kg of specific oils, 0.088 kg of FDA-approved food additives, 0.02 kg of sanitation chemicals, and furnace oil equivalent to 2% of the FOB value for heating. These changes aim to streamline trade practices.
