of <h1>Indian Customs Launches ICES 1.5 at Surat Hira Bourse ICD for Electronic Import-Export Processing Starting August 5, 2016.</h1> The Indian Customs EDI System (ICES 1.5) is being launched for imports and exports at the Inland Container Depot (ICD) Surat Hira Bourse. This system will facilitate electronic processing of Bills of Entry and Shipping Bills starting from August 5, 2016. Importers, exporters, customs brokers, and other stakeholders must comply with electronic filing requirements, including registration of Importer Exporter Code (IE-Code) and customs brokers in the system. The system will automate the processing of transshipment movements and require specific codes for currency, units of measurement, and country references. The initiative aims to streamline customs procedures, enhance efficiency, and ensure compliance with trade regulations.
