Central Board of Excise and Customs Ends Manual Debits on Advance Authorizations at EDI Ports to Boost Export Efficiency.
The Central Board of Excise and Customs has decided to discontinue the practice of making manual debits on physical copies of Advance Authorizations registered at EDI Customs ports to enhance ease of business for exporters. This change aims to eliminate redundant work, reduce delays, and minimize errors. Future authorizations will be managed electronically, with officers ensuring proper debit entries in the EDI system. For domestic sourcing, authorization holders must request an Advice Letter from the Group DC/AC. In case of EDI system breakdowns, manual clearances may be permitted with safeguards. This change does not affect the use of TRA facilities at non-EDI ports.
