<h1>DGFT Allocates 2,500 Metric Tons of Black Pepper for Indo-Sri Lanka Trade; October 31 Deadline for License.</h1> The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) issued a trade notice regarding the allocation of 2,500 metric tons of black pepper for import under the Indo-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement for the financial year 2016-17. No applications were received for Vanaspati Bakery, Shortening & Margarine, and Desiccated Coconut, so no allocations were made for these products. Approved applicants must obtain licenses from regional authorities and submit utilization certificates by October 31, 2016. Failure to utilize or surrender the quota by this date will result in a three-year ban from applying under the agreement. The list of applicants and their allocated quantities is provided.
