Foreign Trade Policy Update: New Export Benefits for High Value-Added Goods Like LCD TVs and Medical Instruments.
The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.1 (RE-2008) under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09. The amendment includes a list of high value added manufactured goods in Table 9 of Appendix 37D, effective from April 1, 2008. The listed goods, such as bulletproof glass, crank shafts, medical instruments, optical fibers, sculptures, and LCD TVs, are eligible for export benefits if they achieve at least 100% value addition under specified authorization schemes. This amendment serves the public interest by promoting exports of these high value-added products.
