of <h1>Central Excise Update: Multiple Premises of Same Factory Can Register as Single Entity Under New Amendment.</h1> The circular issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Central Board of Excise and Customs, amends Notification No. 36/2001-Central Excise to allow the registration of two or more premises of the same factory as a single registrant under Central Excise. This is applicable if the premises are closely located, fall under the same Central Excise Range, have interlinked processes, and do not operate under area-based exemptions. The amendment modifies previous instructions and is effective from March 1, 2016. Any implementation difficulties should be reported to the Board. The circular aims to streamline registration processes for eligible factories.
