Regional Authorities Must Enforce Export Obligations Within 36 Months for Advance Authorization Scheme Compliance.
The circular addresses the monitoring of export obligations under the Advance Authorization Scheme, initially outlined in Policy Circular No.9/2003. It highlights that the validity of Advance Authorization is 24 months, extendable by six months. Export obligations must be fulfilled within six months from the first import. However, some Regional Authorities have failed to monitor these obligations effectively. To ensure compliance, Regional Authorities are instructed to take action immediately after the maximum allowable period of 36 months from the authorization issuance date. This directive is approved by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
