of <h1>India Relaxes Non-Basmati Rice Export Ban for Two EOUs, Allowing 25,000 Tonnes Total During 2008-09 Season.</h1> The circular addresses the partial relaxation of a ban on exporting non-basmati rice, allowing two 100% Export Oriented Units (EOUs) to export 12,500 tonnes each during the 2008-09 Kharif Marketing Season. The EOUs involved are located in Pondicherry and Hyderabad, with a set minimum export price of US $1000 per tonne. Monitoring of the export quantities will be conducted by designated Development Commissioners and Jurisdictional Customs Commissioners to ensure compliance. Weekly reports on the export activities must be submitted to the Directorate General of Foreign Trade for reporting to the Cabinet Secretariat.
