        <h1>New Online System for Lighthouse Dues Payments Launched; Customs Officers to Verify Receipts Online.</h1> The Ministry of Shipping has introduced an online system for collecting lighthouse dues, allowing payments via the Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships or Syndicate Bank websites. Customs officers will receive user IDs and passwords to verify online payment receipts. Information about the system has been communicated to Customs officers via email. Chief Commissioners of Customs are instructed to inform their staff and issue public notices to trade and shipping agents about this new system. A draft notification and a standard operating procedure detailing the implementation process are provided for reference.
