of <h1>DGFT Kolkata launches online application for MEIS, transitioning to paperless submissions to boost ease of doing business.</h1> The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in Kolkata has released an online application form for the Merchandise Exports From India Scheme (MEIS), aiming to enhance the ease of doing business by transitioning to paperless submissions. Applicants can now apply online for MEIS rewards and upload required documents using digital signatures. Physical document submissions are no longer needed, except for proof of landing and shipping bills for exports from non-EDI ports. The office has established two sections, MEIS I and MEIS II, to facilitate smooth processing based on the applicant's name.
