Effective from November 1, 2013, the procedure utilizes an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Gate Module to automate container movement, eliminating the need for manual applications. Importers, shipping lines, and agents must ensure correct entry of destination codes and other details in the Import General Manifest (IGM) to facilitate automatic approval. The system debits and re-credits bond values based on container movements, requiring adequate bond execution by CFS operators. Manual procedures will be phased out, with electronic IGM submissions serving as movement applications.
