Previously, white TR-6 challan forms, used for '0038 - Union Excise Duties,' led to misclassification issues. The change aims to ensure proper segregation and scrolling of receipts at banks. All authorized agencies and departments must use the yellow TR-6 challans for Service Tax deposits from the specified date.
