of <h1>India Reverts to 2009 Guidelines for Power in SEZs, Replacing 2012 Rules, Effective April 2015.</h1> The Ministry of Commerce & Industry of the Government of India has withdrawn the guidelines for power generation, transmission, and distribution in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) that were issued on March 21, 2012, effective April 1, 2015. The previous guidelines from February 27, 2009, have been reinstated and will now serve as the foundation for policy and operational decisions in SEZs. This change has been communicated to all relevant state and union territory chief secretaries, SEZ development commissioners, the Ministry of Power, and the Department of Revenue.
