of <h1>Deadline for Filing Income Tax Returns in Orissa Extended to 31st October 2008 Due to Flood Disruptions.</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes has extended the deadline for filing income tax returns and obtaining tax audit reports for taxpayers in the State of Orissa due to disruptions caused by floods. The original due date of 30th September 2008 has been extended to 31st October 2008. This extension is granted under Section 119 of the Income Tax Act, 1961, to accommodate the challenges faced by taxpayers in the affected region.
