of <h1>India Confirms Excise Duty Exemption for All Machinery in Water Treatment Plants Under Notification No. 6/2006-C.E.</h1> The Government of India clarifies that the full excise duty exemption under notification No. 6/2006-C.E. applies to all machinery and components, including pipes, used in water treatment and supply plants. This exemption covers pipes for water delivery and those integral to water supply projects, provided the manufacturer obtains a certification from the District Collector. The exemption also applies to pipes used for replacing worn-out or damaged ones, not just for initial plant setup. Relevant authorities are instructed to inform field formations accordingly.
