<h1>RBI Raises Liberalised Remittance Scheme Limit for Individuals to USD 125,000 Annually; Banks to Inform Clients.</h1> The Reserve Bank of India has increased the limit under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) for resident individuals from USD 75,000 to USD 125,000 per financial year. This adjustment allows Category-I Authorised Dealer banks to remit up to USD 125,000 for any permitted current or capital account transaction, including the acquisition of immovable property outside India. The terms and conditions from previous circulars remain unchanged. The amendment to the Principal Regulations has been notified, and banks are advised to inform their clients of these changes. These directions are issued under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1992.
