Settlement Commission Application Fees Clarified: Tr-6 Challan and Rs. 5/Page Copy Fee Now Have Specific Bank Codes.
Applicants seeking to settle cases before the Settlement Commission under the Central Excise and Customs Acts must file an application accompanied by a Tr-6 challan, evidencing a payment of Rs. 1,000. Additionally, a fee of Rs. 5 per page is required for obtaining report copies. The Settlement Commission's Chairman highlighted difficulties in fee payments due to the absence of assignment codes. This issue has been resolved with the allocation of specific Bank Assignment Codes by the State Bank of India for respective Payment and Accounts Offices in New Delhi and Mumbai. Departmental officers are advised to authenticate challans for application fee payments.
