of <h1>Delhi VAT Commissioner Delegates Security Requirement Powers to Officers u/s 68 DVAT Act, Excludes Alteration or Forfeiture.</h1> The Commissioner of Value Added Tax, Department of Trade & Taxes, Government of NCT of Delhi, has issued an order modifying a previous directive from November 2013. Under the authority of Section 68 of the DVAT Act, 2004, and Rule 48 of the VAT Rules, 2005, specific powers related to requiring dealers to furnish security for registration or refunds are delegated to officers not below the rank of Assistant Value Added Tax Officer. This delegation excludes powers to alter or forfeit the security. The order is effective immediately and is communicated to relevant departmental officers and branches.
