of <h1>MCA Directive: Companies Can't Use 'National' in Names Unless Government-Owned; 'Bank' Needs RBI Approval.</h1> The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has issued a directive that companies or Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) should not be registered with the word 'National' in their names unless they are government entities with a stake from the Central or State government. This rule must be strictly enforced by all Registrars of Companies. Additionally, the use of the word 'Bank' in a company's name requires a 'No Objection Certificate' from the Reserve Bank of India, and the terms 'Stock Exchange' or 'Exchange' require a similar certificate from the Securities and Exchange Board of India.
