of <h1>International Customs Day Celebrated Globally on January 26; India Observes on January 27 Due to Republic Day.</h1> International Customs Day is celebrated globally on January 26th, marking the inaugural session of the Customs Co-operation Council in 1953. The Council, now known as the World Customs Organization (WCO), has 179 member states. Each year, the WCO selects a theme; for 2014, it is 'Communication: sharing information for better cooperation.' Due to Republic Day celebrations in India, International Customs Day will be observed on January 27, 2014. Celebrations will include trade members, CHA Association officials, and senior officers from related departments, with field formations required to report their activities to the Board.
