<h1>Revised Policy: Importer Exporter Code Remains Valid for EOUs, SEZs, EHTPs, STPs, BTPs After De-bonding.</h1> The circular from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade addresses the validity of Importer Exporter Code (IEC) for Export Oriented Units (EOUs) and units in Special Economic Zones (SEZs), Electronics Hardware Technology Parks (EHTPs), Software Technology Parks (STPs), and Bio-Technology Parks (BTPs) after de-bonding. Previously, EOUs had to surrender their IEC upon converting to Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) units. The revised policy allows the IEC to remain valid regardless of the unit's status, reducing transaction costs. The jurisdictional Development Commissioner will transfer the IEC file to the relevant Regional Authority, which will manage modifications and benefits eligibility.
