of <h1>Income Tax Compulsory Deposit Scheme Discontinued; 1985 Instalments to Be Released Per Ministry's 1986 Directive.</h1> The Compulsory Deposit Scheme for Income-tax Payers was discontinued as of April 1, 1985. The Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, issued orders on March 14, 1986, for the release of instalments due in 1985-86, which were deferred for one year under the 1985 Amendment Act. This circular, dated April 24, 1986, directs Chief Commissioners and Commissioners of Income-tax to publicize the contents of the Ministry's letter for taxpayer guidance and ensure all officers are informed.
