of <h1>Income tax deduction rates for 1977-78 remain unchanged from 1976-77 as per Finance Bill, 1977.</h1> The circular informs all State Governments that the rates for deducting income tax from salaries for the financial year 1977-78 will remain the same as those for 1976-77. This decision is based on the Finance Bill, 1977, introduced in Parliament. Disbursing officers and State undertakings are instructed to continue applying the rates specified in Part III of the First Schedule to the Finance Act, 1976, until further notice.
