of <h1>DGFT Shifts IEC Update Duties from Zonal Office to Regional Authorities, STPI Units to Apply Locally for Changes.</h1> The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has transferred the responsibility of updating old Importer Exporter Codes (IECs) issued by Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) from the Zonal Joint Director General of Foreign Trade, New Delhi, to designated Regional Authorities. STPI units can now apply to their respective Regional Authorities for the cancellation of old IECs and issuance of new ones. Applications for cancellation will be forwarded to the Zonal Office in New Delhi for processing. The previous directive, O&M Instruction No.10/2007, remains effective for unresolved IEC cases. This notice encourages relevant trade members to utilize this updated procedure.
