<h1>Amendment to Import Conditions: Export Obligation for Spices Now 120 Days for Some, 12 Months for Others (Para 6.7.</h1> The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended the Handbook of Procedures, Vol. 1(RE-2008), specifically Para 6.7, concerning conditions of import. The amendment specifies that for the import of spices for value-added purposes such as crushing, grinding, sterilization, or manufacturing oils and oleoresins of pepper, cardamom, and chillies, the export obligation (EO) must be fulfilled within 120 days from the first consignment's import date. For other spices, the EO must be fulfilled within 12 months. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
