of <h1>RBI Master Circular 2008: Consolidated Rules on Foreign Investment, Property Acquisition, and Branch Establishment in India.</h1> The Master Circular on Foreign Investment in India, dated July 1, 2008, consolidates the regulatory framework and instructions issued by the Reserve Bank of India under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999. It addresses foreign investment regulations, including the acquisition of immovable property, the establishment of branch or liaison offices, and investments in partnership firms or proprietary concerns. This circular compiles existing instructions from various RBI circulars and notifications and will be replaced by an updated version on July 1, 2009. The circular is directed to all Category-I Authorized Dealer banks.
