of <h1>New Services Taxed: IT Software, Life Insurance, Stock Exchange, Goods Trading, Transactions, and Tangible Goods Supply.</h1> Six new services have been included under the Service Tax net effective from May 16, 2008, as per the Finance Bill, 2008. The Central Board of Excise & Customs has issued an office memorandum detailing the Head of Accounts for these services under the Major Head '0044-Service Tax.' The services include those related to information technology software, life insurance investment management, stock exchange operations, goods trading, processing and clearing transactions, and supply of tangible goods. Each service has been assigned specific serial and SCCD codes. The relevant accounting codes must be communicated to the appropriate authorities for the issuance of a Trade Notice.
