of <h1>Clarification: Maize export ban excludes consignments given to Customs before 3.7.2008; DGFT approval required.</h1> The circular clarifies the ban on maize exports as per Notification No. 22 dated 3.7.2008, effective until 15.10.2008, which also prohibits exports under Transitional Arrangements of the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09. However, it states that according to Para 9.12 of the Handbook of Procedures (Volume 1), the ban does not apply to consignments already handed over to Customs for examination and export before the notification date. The circular confirms that such exports will be allowed, with approval from the Director General of Foreign Trade.
