of <h1>Rare-Earth Compounds Now 'Free' to Import Under ITC (HS) Code 2846, Effective Retroactively from January 1, 2007.</h1> The import policy for items under ITC (HS) Code 2846, which includes compounds of rare-earth metals, yttrium, scandium, or their mixtures, has been updated to classify them as 'Free' for import. This change, effective retrospectively from January 1, 2007, follows recommendations from the Department of Atomic Energy, which reclassified these items under the Atomic Energy Act, 1962. The decision addresses concerns from trade and industry and has been approved by the competent authority.
