of <h1>SION Amendments: New Wool Norms for Exporting Handmade Carpets and Durries Announced by DGFT.</h1> Amendments have been made to the Standard Input Output Norms (SION) for the export of handknotted, woven, tufted woollen carpets, Indo-Tibetan carpets, and handmade wool druggets (durries) under the Handicrafts Products category. As per Public Notice No. 33 (RE-2008)/2004-09 dated 25 June 2008, the permissible quantity of raw wool (32 micron and above) for export is set at 1.35 kg per kg of the export item, and carpet thread waste of wool is set at 1.15 kg per kg. Other import items remain unchanged. These changes are made in the public interest by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
