<h1>DGFT Updates Import Rules for Jewelry Sector: New Replenishment Authorization Rates for Duty-Free Imports Announced.</h1> The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended the Handbook of Procedures (Vol. I) concerning the Replenishment Authorization for duty-free import of consumables, tools, machinery, and equipment for jewelry made from precious metals, excluding gold and platinum. The authorization allows for imports equal to 2% of the FOB value of exports from the previous year for such jewelry, and 1% for cut and polished diamonds, gold, and platinum jewelry. For rhodium-finished silver jewelry, the entitlement is 3% of the FOB value of exports. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
