of <h1>Amendment Allows SEZ Exports to Fulfill Export Obligations Regardless of Currency Under Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09.</h1> Amendments to the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1), 2004-2009, have been announced, allowing exports to Special Economic Zone (SEZ) units and supplies to developers or co-developers to count towards the discharge of export obligations, regardless of the currency of realization. This change, effective from January 1, 2008, is enacted under the authority of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09, by the Director General of Foreign Trade. The amendment is intended to facilitate trade and is issued in the public interest.
