New Rules for Exporters: Ensure Correct Demand Draft Details and Include IEC Number for Invalidation Letters to Avoid Application Returns.
Trade Notice No. 08/2006, dated December 9, 2005, addresses issues with online application submissions for Demand Drafts. It highlights errors such as incorrect Demand Draft numbers, dates, amounts, and payment modes, which hinder processing. Applications with such deficiencies will be returned. Exporters must include their name, IEC number, and file number on the reverse of Demand Drafts or Pay Orders. Additionally, when requesting Invalidation letters, advance license holders must provide the IEC number and complete details of intermediate suppliers, as this is now mandatory in the updated software.
