Foreign Trade Policy Update: Single Consolidated Application Required for Duty Credit; Submit Biannually with Proof of Landing.
The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended the Handbook of Procedures, Vol.1, under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009. Key changes include the requirement for a single consolidated application for exports through EDI-enabled ports, filed by the head or registered office of the firm, for duty credit under the Focus Market Scheme. Applications must be submitted biannually and within six months from the end of the application period. Proof of landing is required for export consignment, and duty credit certificates will be issued based on FOB value realized. The port of registration must be one of the export ports, although imports can be made through other ports with authorization.
