New DGFT Amendments: Lost EP Cases, MODVAT to CENVAT Update, EPCG Authorisation Clubbing from April 1, 2007.
Amendments to the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.I), 2004-2009, have been issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade, effective from November 5, 2007. A new paragraph 4.30A addresses cases involving lost EP copies of Shipping Bills or Bank Realisation Certificates, allowing consideration for EODC and other conditions under specific schemes if certain documents are provided. These include a duplicate document, a 1% application fee, an affidavit, and an indemnity bond. Conditions for reconstructed shipping bills differ. Additionally, the term MODVAT is updated to MODVAT/CENVAT, and new provisions for clubbing EPCG Authorisations are introduced for authorisations issued from April 1, 2007.
